He started composing at the age of 10. He debuted at the age of 21 in the Tamil movie 3 as a composer. He was inspired by A. R. Rahman's music.
During his school years he participated in a reality show based on music, Ooh La La La as part of a fusion group called Carnatic ZinX.
He taught a classic piano at the Trinity College of Music in London. During his studies he was also part of the Circuit Funk rock band. In 2011, his song why this Kolaveri Di was going to become a successful parade.
